"Girl don't come,
If it's all been said and done.
Don't turn around,
Let them kick back off the ground,
Let them kick back off the ground.
Girl don't come,
He's got nothing left to lose,
But that's alright.
That could well change overnight.
You want to take that pretty head,
Lay down in someone else's bed.
Girl don't come.
If you want my sympathy my dear,
You'd better not come near my dear.
I think it's fair to say my dear,
You'd better see my way."

Sometimes the father's career would span generations. That is how it was in Amira's family. For hundreds of years they had been the hunters. For hundreds of years the daughters and wives were left to mourn the deaths of the men as their risky jobs took their lives. They had money. Plenty of money, enough for the women to live on for many generations. But it couldn't bring back the loved ones they had lost.
And so Amira, to ease her pain, turned to hatred, as she saw her brothers killed off one by one, like their father before them. It was the fault of those whom they hunted. There was no logic in her thoughts, as those who were hunted had acted to save their own lives. But she clung to them still.
It was easier to hate the pointed-ears then it was to face her family's death.
