Mitsu didn't remember anything about his birth parents. He wouldn't meet his sister until he was twenty. All he had, growing up from the time he was taken, when he was five, was Zhi. His world revolved around Zhi. Everything was for Zhi.
His view of the world skewed, seeing Zhi's actions as just, given no chance to learn otherwise. So he did not complain or put up a fight as Zhi mutilated him, taking away that which marked him as male. Nor did he fret as Zhi began frequenting his bed. All was well as long as Zhi was happy. When Zhi was unhappy, it was always Mitsu's fault. Always him doing something wrong. The bruises and cuts.. were all a result of his mistakes. That was teh way he saw the world.
It was Samickle who invaded on his painful peace. Told him that Zhi was awful, Zhi was evil, Zhi had done terrible things to him. Things Mitsu couldn't believe. But worst of all, Samickle made Mitsu leave. Made him go live with Mika, someone that Mitsu knew from a trip to the village.
His fantasy crashing around him now, what was he to do?
Zhi turned on the village, and left. Mitsu blamed himself for a time, and was constantly attempting to run away to Zhi's home. He resisted against Mika's attmepts to help him. He resisted changing his ways.
Ironically, it would be Zhi himself that caused Mitsu to change. The man came to Mika's home one day, with the intention of taking the pair to the Lunar Realm. He wanted Mitsu back, and he wanted Mika to suffer.
Mika was tied up, (by Mitsu, even), and they were taken out of the village. Payne attempted to stop them, and Zhi poisoned Mika and Mitsu, claiming that the antidote was in the Lunar Realm. Mika launched at him, knocking him down. And to stop the struggling entirely, Zhi threw a knife. At Mitsu. It struck the boy's shoulder, and Zhi claimed it would make the poison work faster. Payne and Mika both ceased their struggling, and Mika went to Mitsu, attempting to comfort him, ease his pain.
In the citadel, the antidotes were given, and Mika and Mitsu were thrown in cages. Both of the pair had their share of suffering, and they found comfort in each other. And it was Mika that would get them out. He bent the bars of the cage, and ... somehow... he teleported them away from the Lunar Realm. And right into Sarutahiko's Basin. The god revealed that Mika was no Oina, but a Lunaris, and then led them from the Basin into Kamui. And they returned back to life. And Mitsu was more then happy to ease Mika's concerns about his true heritage.
