Vana has lived a life of quiet seclusion in the small village laying on the path to larger cities. Travelers pass through regularly, which caused her to open up a small inn, in addition to a tea stand her mother started when she discovered the village. Her inn brings in little money, since she often lets poor travelers stay without paying, but what money she does get that is not needed for continuing her meager business, is given to the older members of the village. Her pointed ears bring her some suspicious looks, but she insists she's the child of an elf, one of the lesser-feared fay creatures. If you ask her, she'll tell you that her mother was an elf, and her father human. In truth, she is a pure-blood dragon, her parents living in other parts of the world. Hardly surprising, since the dragons are hiding everywhere.
Her identity was nearly given away a few years prior, when Uaine, in a fit of rage and despair, launched an attack on the village after his boyfriend of many months left him. Knowing her friend was in danger, and wanting to stop his irrational attack, she ran to him, crying out to halt his advance. Uaine stopped at the sight of his long-time friend, but he understood the risk Vana had taken. Though no questions were directly asked, whispers were passed on the winds, suspicions and accusations. Vana took them stoically, ever more appreciative to the people who did not question, trusting her sweet lies about her heritage. Amoung the villagers, she is particularly close to an older man, whom she has known since he settled there.
